How Easy It Is to Get Your Trade License in Assam in 2025!



✅ How to Apply for a Trade License in Assam (2025)

  1. Register on the Sewa Setu Portal

    • Visit the Sewa Setu Assam portal.

    • Click on the Register tab (top right corner).

    • Fill in your full name, mobile number, state, and create a password. An email ID is optional.(Sewasetu)

  2. Log In and Select the Service

  3. Fill Out the Application Form

    • Complete the application form with accurate business details.

    • Upload the necessary supporting documents.(Sewasetu)

  4. Pay the Required Fees

    • Pay the application fee online.

    • Additional charges may apply if you use a Public Facilitation Center (PFC) or Common Service Center (CSC):

      • Service charge: ₹30

      • Printing: ₹10 per page

      • Scanning: ₹5 per page .

  5. Application Processing

    • Upon successful submission and payment, your application will be forwarded to the relevant officials for processing.

    • You will receive an acknowledgment with a reference number via SMS and email.(APSC Study, Sewasetu, Sewasetu)

  6. Download Your Trade License

    • Once approved, you will be notified through SMS and email.

    • You can then download your trade license from the ARTPS portal.(Sewasetu)

📄 Documents Required

  • Proof of Identity: Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License.

  • Proof of Business Premises: Ownership documents, lease/rent agreement, building permit, or occupancy certificate.

  • Additional Documents: Depending on your business type, you may need to provide business registration certificates, educational qualifications, or other relevant documents .(APSC Study)

💰 Fees & Validity

  • Application Fee: Varies based on the type of business and location.

  • Validity: Typically valid for one financial year (April 1 to March 31).

  • Renewal: You can apply for renewal through the same Sewa Setu portal.(gdd.assam.gov.in, Sewasetu)

📍 Special Note for Guwahati Businesses

If your business is located in Guwahati, you can also apply through the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) portal. The GMC has six zones, and you can submit your application online or at the respective zone office .(GMC Assam)
